It’s been a long time. The last you heard from us was the announcement of WOW Signal – Our tiny team’s big project. We have been working super hard to get it out, hence the silence!
But now, It is 2019 and let me start by wishing you all a very happy new year. The past few months have been nothing but exciting and I have so much to share!
First big news is that Pixel Drop Studios was selected by Unity to showcase our game Shut the Window at the Unite India in December! This was an absolutely amazing experience for us . It was the first time our entire team (Well its just the 3 of us) travelled to the beautiful city of Hyderabad and showcased our products in such a scenario. Only a handful of games were selected in the whole country and we were really privileged to be a part of it.
Time to share lots of pics!
As you can see our booth was constantly packed with players excited to play. What turned out to be an eye opener was the amazing feedback, suggestions and praises we received for the games! we realised that we have been so busy in working with WOW Signal that we completely ignored our previous products: Quote Codes and Shut the Window. These games have genuine followers of players who are waiting for updates and new content. It was now time to chalk out the New Years plan to expand even more!
Being an indie studio is awesome, it is however a 24 hour job and being a small team of 3 adds to the pressure. It was not physically possible for us to manage multiple projects at a time which resulted in older games being ignored.
The Leap Year of Pixel Drop!
As of today, I am extremely happy to announce that Pixel Drop is hiring! We want to expand and grow our family. We are looking for like minded programmers proficient in Unity and Illustrators proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop. If you think you are right for the job and share the same passion, please drop us a message!
2019 is going to be the leap year of Pixel Drop. You will be hearing a lot more from us and reading even more about our work and projects! Stay tuned guys, lots of exciting stuff.
Today, we are extremely proud to introduce WOW Signal!
For the past year, our tiny team has been secretly planning to get this project off the ground. WOW Signal is an endless runner based on the concept of pursuing wow signals in outer space. Coming soon to iOS.
We hope you like the little teaser we made! Also be sure to check the website HERE and subscribe to receive updates on the game.
The Wow Signal was a 72 second radio signal received on August 15, 1977, by Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio telescope in the United States, then used to support the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. The signal remains the strongest candidate for an alien radio transmission ever detected!
We’ve envisioned that humanity is on its last legs. Earth has completely run dry from over exploitation and we’ve put in all our efforts into pursuing wow signals which we hope might lead us to our salvation. Each time as you embark on your quest for wow signals, you inch closer to saving humanity from annihilation – A 1977 Space Odyssey!
Starting today, we’ll be regularly keeping you posted on the progress of the game and the many sneak peaks into the game! Special shout out to Joel George for the amazing soundtrack.
If you like the concept and the teaser, please don’t forget to subscribe on the website and tell your friends too!
P.S. And for those of you following the world cup.
It has been just over a year since we started this blog and the reboot of Pixel Drop. We vowed to get our core principles right again and start fresh. At the start of 2017 we set out with many plans, but at the foremost was to form a strong bonded team of individuals who share the same passion as us. Only then can we convert the promises to reality and all the planning can be set in motion.
Pixel Drop was started way back in our college days but I always tell joseph that we become a studio only a few months back. Because, it was only a few months back that we were able to form that team of amazingly talented individuals ready to give their all (Thanks guys). And that is why I believe that 2018 will be the year of Pixel Drop. For us, every small thing as been a learning curve, hence we do such detailed blogs about our entire process (check out the Quote Codes Diaries) so anyone starting new can have all the basic knowledge at one place.
Now let’s get on with the fun stuff. Here is the year of Pixel Drop.
Quote Codes – Quote Codes is a word puzzle game where you unlock your favorite quotes by substituting one letter at a time. In every game, each symbol stands for a letter. Your aim is to guess and decode the quotes!
